JobFill

Resume parser

Turn your resume into an autofill profile — on your device

Upload your resume once. JobFill reads it inside the extension on your computer, shows you everything it found, and saves only what you approve.

Your resume stays on this device unless you choose an AI/cloud feature.

From resume to profile in four steps

  1. Step 1

    Upload

Choose a PDF, Word (.docx) or text file up to 5 MB — or paste the text.

  2. Step 2

    Extract

Text is extracted locally, without uploading the file anywhere.

  3. Step 3

    Review

See every detail found, grouped by section, and untick anything that’s wrong.

  4. Step 4

    Approve

Only what you approve is saved to your profile, on this device.

What it finds

The resume parser recognises the sections most resumes use, in the order you wrote them.

  • Name, email, phone and location
  • LinkedIn, GitHub and portfolio links
  • Current title and professional summary
  • Work experience with titles, companies, dates and highlights
  • Education with institution, degree, field and dates
  • Skills, languages and certifications

Never silently overwritten

Updating an existing profile? Where your resume disagrees with what you saved, JobFill shows both and keeps your existing value unless you choose otherwise. Roles and schools you already have are recognised, not duplicated.

Getting the best results

  • Use a resume with real, selectable text — scanned images can’t be read.
  • Clear section headings (“Experience”, “Education”, “Skills”) help most.
  • Unusual layouts may need a few corrections in the review step — that’s what it’s for.

Frequently asked questions

Which resume formats can JobFill read?

PDF, Word (.docx) and plain text files up to 5 MB. PDFs need to contain real text — a scanned image of a resume has no text to read, so JobFill will tell you and let you paste the text instead. Older .doc files can’t be read either — save as .docx or PDF, or paste the text.

Is my resume uploaded to a server to be parsed?

No. The resume parser runs inside the extension on your computer. The file is not uploaded anywhere to extract your details.

Will importing a resume overwrite my profile?

Not without your say-so. You review every detail found before anything is saved. Where your resume disagrees with your existing profile, JobFill shows both values side by side and keeps your existing value unless you choose the resume’s.
