How it works
How JobFill autofills job applications
Five steps: set up once, then fill applications in seconds — with you reviewing each one before it’s sent.
The five steps
- 1
Add JobFill to Chrome
Install the extension and pin it to your toolbar. There’s no account to create. The install guide walks through it.
- 2
Create your profile
Import your resume — JobFill’s resume parser reads it on your device and you approve each detail — or fill in the sections yourself. A completeness indicator shows what’s missing.
- 3
Open a job application
Open an application form in Chrome — a company careers page, an applicant tracking system, or a Google Form. JobFill notices the form’s fields as the page loads, without changing anything.
- 4
Click “Autofill Application”
JobFill fills the fields that match your profile and shows a summary: how many fields it filled and which ones need review. Prefer to approve each value first? Turn on Preview fields before filling. Learn more about how autofill recognises fields.
- 5
Answer, review and submit
Answer the open questions yourself — or draft them with optional AI answers — check the form, and submit it. JobFill never submits for you.

What “needs review” means
After each fill, JobFill lists the fields it left for you. They usually fall into four groups:
- Open questions — “Why do you want to work here?” needs your answer.
- Uncertain matches — when a field could mean more than one thing, JobFill asks rather than guesses.
- Missing profile data — the form asks for something your profile doesn’t have yet.
- Personal & consent questions — demographic, identity or legal questions you haven’t answered in your profile, and every consent box, are yours to answer.
Frequently asked questions
Does JobFill submit applications for me?
No, never. JobFill fills fields and shows you a summary of what it filled and what needs your review. Submitting is always your decision and your click.
Can I check what JobFill will fill before it fills anything?
Yes. Turn on “Preview fields before filling” and JobFill lists every field it detected with the value it plans to use. Untick anything you don’t want, then fill.
What about multi-step application forms?
Click Autofill on each step. JobFill also notices fields that appear because of an answer it filled (for example a “please give details” box) and fills those too.
Will autofill overwrite what I already typed?
No. Fields that already contain a value are left alone.
Will importing a resume overwrite my profile?
Not without your say-so. You review every detail found before anything is saved. Where your resume disagrees with your existing profile, JobFill shows both values side by side and keeps your existing value unless you choose the resume’s.
Stop retyping your résumé into every application.
Set up your profile once. JobFill fills the form; you review and submit.
